What is an investment attraction platform?

An investment attraction platform is a website that shows investors everything they need to choose a location and a plot: land, infrastructure, incentives and costs, on one live map. The best ones take the investor all the way from first look to a plot reservation.

The short answer

Investment promotion used to run on brochures, PDF land catalogues and long email threads. An investment attraction platform replaces those with one place an investor can open at any time. They see the location's potential, filter available plots, check utilities and transport, read the incentives that apply to them, and take the next step without waiting for a reply.

Business Builder Map is an investment attraction platform built on a map. It is used by organisations that have land or sites to fill: investment promotion agencies, economic zones and industrial parks, city and regional governments, and master developers.

What it usually includes

  • A live map of every plot, with its boundary, size, zoning, price and status (available, reserved or taken).
  • Infrastructure layers: roads, rail, power lines and substations, water, and risk areas such as flood zones.
  • Plot cards that answer the first questions an investor asks: power and water capacity, distance to the highway, rail terminal and airport, and the incentives that apply.
  • Site selection: the investor describes the project and the platform ranks plots that fit, with the reasons behind each match.
  • Opportunities: tenders, PPP projects and land auctions linked to the plots they concern.
  • Insights: figures for the whole location and for each district, such as land on offer, occupancy, sectors already present and infrastructure being built.
  • A path to commitment: a shortlist, a structured enquiry, or an online plot reservation.

How it differs from a website or a map viewer

A promotional website describes a location. A map viewer shows layers. An investment attraction platform does both and adds the steps in between: it answers the investor's questions in the order they ask them, and ends with an action. Three tests make the difference clear:

  1. Can an investor find a plot that fits their project without contacting anyone?
  2. Can they see why that plot fits, in terms they care about (size, zoning, power, access, cost)?
  3. Can they act on it from the same page, by booking the plot or sending a complete enquiry?

If the answer to all three is yes, the investor arrives at the first meeting already informed, and the team spends its time on serious leads.

What data it needs

Most organisations already hold what is needed: plot boundaries or coordinates, sizes, zoning, utility capacity, prices, incentives and open tenders. Spreadsheets, Shapefiles, GeoJSON and other common GIS formats all work. Because the platform is built on a map, every figure is tied to a real place, which keeps the data honest and easy to update.

How Business Builder Map does it

  • Investment Map with plot cards, layers, a 3D view of terrain and plots, and building models (BIM) for selected plots.
  • Map tools: distance, area, elevation profile and catchment.
  • Site Selection: four questions, a review of the answers, then a ranked shortlist that explains each score.
  • Ask BBM: a business assistant that reads an investor's project file or chat and answers from your land offer.
  • Investor tools: ROI and payback, setup cost, incentive stack, licence pathway and infrastructure readiness.
  • Reports investors can print or save, and online plot booking at the end of the journey.
  • Your brand, your domain and the languages your investors read.

You can try all of it in the Demo Zone, a sample region with more than 100 plots.

Questions

Is an investment attraction platform the same as a GIS?

No. A GIS is the technology for working with spatial data. An investment attraction platform uses that technology to serve investors: it turns the data into answers, comparisons and a path to booking a plot.

Who should own the platform?

Usually the organisation that markets the land: an investment promotion agency, an economic zone authority, a city or regional government, or a master developer.

Do investors need an account?

Not to explore. In Business Builder Map, anyone can browse the map, run Site Selection and use the investor tools. Booking a plot is the step that asks for the investor's details.
